I had a person buy a pair of Z-Duty boots on Sunday. She was suffering from bursitis in the hip area and the pain radiated down her leg. The footwear felt wonderful, and she proceeded to take an hour walk on a trail that had some hills in her Z's.
She called the next day and said that she had a flare-up after her walk. In talking to her, she had been only doing 20 minute walks before that on fairly flat terrain, but the shoes felt so good, and she felt that they were a miracle cure and she could do anything! She realized that she was over zealous and knew she did something that she shouldn't have.
She came into the store and exchanged them for a more appropriate walking shoe, the Freedom 2000, and she is now going to slowly up her routine until she can get to that hour walk that she longs for.
The lesson in this story is that even though you may feel much better and have less pain, you still have an injury, and going from a snail pace to a speeding train will cause issues. You need to ease back into things, allowing your muscles to adjust and strengthen, before you tackle Mount Everest!
Till later,
Caesar...
